Happy Tuesday! Has the rain finally paused for a few days? I hope so. This is Jamie, and you're listening to the To Do San Francisco podcast for January 6th, 2026. Nice of you to tune in. Please share my podcast with a friend. So what are your favorite jams to start the day? I like Mr. Blue Sky by Jeff Lynne and the Electric Light Orchestra, also known as ELO. Another good kickstart to the day for my mood is I Love It by Icona Pop. I link to the music videos for both songs on YouTube in the show notes if you're curious. Today's act of kindness - see wrappers, plastic, or other litter that isn't hazardous to pick up and toss into trash while out and about? Just do it. Stop, bend over, and pick up that litter to drop off at the next trash can. Here's a tip for travelers to Japan where public trash cans are few and far between. Use the trash can at the next konbini or convenience store you come across. 7 Eleven, Family Mart, Lawson's. You'll figure it out. Let's mention a local eatery before wrapping it up. Have you tried the fried chicken wings with salt and spicy pepper at Capital Restaurant in San Francisco's Chinatown neighborhood at 839 Clay Street near Grant? If not, make it a point to give them a try. If you're a fan of fried chicken in general, they're awesome. Take a Bay Bridge breathing break - inhale for four, exhale for six, three times. Take some time to walk to a park, touch the grass, or maybe some public art if there's no grass, and enjoy the silence for a few minutes today. Enjoy today's journey.
