Hello, this is Jamie. You're listening to the To Do San Francisco podcast for Thursday, January 29th, 2026. I usually try to keep to evergreenish destinations instead of specific events, but next week's Super Bowl 60 is pretty special. First things first, forget about your car. Between street closures for fan zones and the sheer influx of people, traffic is going to be hell. Gridlock is an understatement. Your MVP this week is your clipper card. If you haven't used it lately, check your digital wallet. You can now tap and pay with your phone or even just a contactless credit card on BART, Muni, or the cable cars. If you're heading to the stadium in Santa Clara, BART or Caltrain can get you most of the way there from San Francisco. With the actual game happening in Santa Clara, San Francisco's main events next week start with the Super Bowl experience. Starting next Tuesday, February 3rd, and running through Saturday the 7th, the Moscone Center at 747 Howard Street transforms into the Super Bowl experience. Think of it as a massive football theme park. Experiences will include interactive passing and kicking games, photos with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, the NFL shop, bring your wallet. Tickets to the events start at forty dollars for adults, but here's the kicker. Kids twelve and under are free. If you want to go, Tuesday through Thursday are the value days. Prices jump to seventy dollars by Saturday. If you've had enough football, how about getting some San Francisco culture and community at the Chinatown block party on Wednesday, february fourth on Grant Avenue. From 5 PM until 9 PM, it's the Chinatown Lunar New Year Block Party. Since we're heading into the year of the horse, the neighborhood is pulling out all the stops, expect traditional lion dances, food from local legends like Brandon Jew, and even a visit from the 49ers owned DJ E Rock. It's the perfect blend of red and gold, both for the Niners and the New Year. Also, during Super Bowl week, come party in Soma, South of Market, on Thursday with the downtown first Thursdays monthly event happening on February 5th. This downtown First Thursday's event is going to be huge. The party takes over 2nd Street between Market and Howard Street from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. It's a free all ages street fest with outdoor bars, disco in the streets, and a headline set by Austin Mills. If you want to see the city at its liveliest without the ticketed stadium price tag, this is where you want to be. For the Super Bowl itself on Sunday, February 8th, head over to Chase Center to watch the game on the big screen in their Thrive City Plaza between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. They also ask for an RSVP at their website before you attend. See the link in the show notes. They'll have a live DJ, and fans ages 21 and over may purchase two go alcoholic drinks from Thrive City participating restaurants to enjoy in the entertainment zone.
