Hey friends, this is To Do San Francisco for Thursday, February 5th, 2026. This is Jamie. Today we're heading to one of the most lovable, most snackable strolls in the city: Clement Street in the Inner Richmond. Think a local commercial corridor where you can wander, eat, browse, and somehow end up with a bag of treats you definitely didn't plan on buying. Start by doing the simplest best thing. Walk slowly. Clement is made for window shopping, little gift stores, produce markets, bakeries, and hole in the wall spots that feel like you just discovered your new favorite place. Start at Green Apple Books on Clement Street, a true city institution. It's the kind of place where you can wander without a plan, new releases, used books, staff picks, and that calm only a good bookstore can provide. Browse and discover something to buy for yourself or as a gift. As you continue along Clement Street, let the day stay loose. This is a great neighborhood for snacking as you go. Picking up something small from a bakery, grabbing a quick bite from a takeout counter, or tasting something new just because it looks good. Clement's mix of Asian eateries, old school shops, and casual cafes make it perfect for grazing. Make it a tasting walk, one item each from a couple places, and share if you're with a friend. On Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Clement Street Farmers Market sets up at 244 Clement Street, and it's one of the most neighborly markets in San Francisco. You'll find fresh produce, baked goods, hot food vendors, and locals doing their weekly shopping. It's lively without being overwhelming and sets a relaxed tone for the morning if you happen to be there on a Sunday. To wrap up your visit to Clement Street, stop by Schubert's Bakery, a longtime local favorite. On Sundays, Schubert's is typically open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. People love their princess cake, fruit tarts, cream puffs, eclairs, and slices of black forest cake. Even one small pastry to go feels like a sweet ending to a well spent day. What makes Clement Street walk special isn't just the food or the shops, it's the pace. You're not rushing, you're not checking boxes, you're just letting the neighborhood carry you. If you're coming from downtown San Francisco because you're staying at one of our hotels, it's an easy ride on Muni. The 38- Geary will get you close quickly, or you can take the 1- California, which drops you right near Clement Street and gives you a scenic ride through the city. From either line it's just a short walk to the heart of the action. Today's act of kindness. When you're on a busy sidewalk or in a crowded shop, try this tiny move. Make room with your body language. Step half a pace to the side, soften your shoulders, and let someone pass without making it a thing. It's small, but it changes the whole tone of the street. Here's an affirmation for the road. "One good thing at a time." Go take your Clement Street stroll, find one delicious surprise, and I'll catch you tomorrow on To Do San Francisco.
