Greetings, this is Jamie, and you're listening to the To Do San Francisco podcast for Monday, March 2nd, 2026. I know, Mondays can feel like a steep climb up Filbert Street, but before you reach for that third espresso, let's try a little perspective shift. Today isn't just the start of the work week, it's a blank canvas. Think of this morning as the refresh button on your browser. Whatever didn't get done last week, it's gone. Whatever stress you're carrying, set it down for a second. You have five days of potential ahead of you to build something, learn something, or at the very least, eat something incredible. Let's decide right now that this week is going to work for us, not against us. Now, if you're looking for a reason to actually leave your desk today, I've got a delicious one. There's a new player in the Rinkin Hill food scene in East Soma that you need to put on your radar. It's called Yuja, and it just opened its doors on Harrison Street near Fremont. For those of you who have been following their Instagram at @ eat.yuja , you know the aesthetic is as clean as the flavors. This isn't just another assembly line bowl shop. It's Asian inspired soul food designed for the modern work day. Here's what you're ordering. There's the Yuja signature bowl. This is the gold standard. It's got that perfectly fresh salmon, creamy avocado, and their namesake Yuja Vinaigrette that ties everything together with a bright citrusy punch. There's the beef bulgogi if you want something warm and savory. The Bulgogi is marinated to perfection. I highly recommend pairing it with their purple rice base or the glass noodles for that classic japchae texture. The spicy pork for those who need a little kick to get through Monday, the spicy pork bowl hits all the right notes without being overwhelming. For dessert, you cannot leave Yuja without trying the Yuja Soft Serve. You can get the original Yuja, the matcha, or the swirl. It's light, refreshing, and honestly, it's the best reward for surviving a Monday. Please give Yuja Bowls and Soft Serve a try. Before I let you go to tackle those emails, here's your kindness tip for the day. In a neighborhood like Rinkin Hill, where we're often watching for speeding cars on the roadways between the glass towers, it's very easy to stay in our digital bubbles. Today my challenge to you is to break that bubble. When you're ordering your Yuja signature bowl or even just grabbing a coffee, make real eye contact with the person behind the counter. Give them a genuine thank you and a smile. Not a mumbled thanks while looking at your phone or down at a bag, but a real human acknowledgement. It takes half a second, but it reminds both of you that you're part of a community, not just a series of transactions. So go get those bowls, stay hydrated, and be excellent to each other. I hope you have a productive, peaceful, and absolutely delicious Monday.
